Moved Into Our New Office

by Micky McQuade January 27, 2010

It's Finished!  Well, almost.  In true McQuade fashion, there are a few small things that probably won't get finished.  It isn't a true project if you don't leave something undone at the end right?

We moved into an old building in downtown Jackson, MO that was built in 1908.  We have to stick with the Vintage theme, so nothing new is allowed!  Here's a picture of the outside of the building.

We removed some paint off the exposed brick in the back two offices (what a mess) and did some other various "sprucing up."  I think it turned out nice.  Here's a picture of Nate in his office:

And here's a picture of me (Micky) in my office.  Jared is off this week, so we'll have to get a picture of him later.  :)

By the way, a big thanks goes to my dad (Dan McQuade) and Nate for all the hard work on the building.  It would not have turned out so nice without you all.

Central Florida Auctions

by Micky McQuade January 12, 2010

Just did a little more web site work for Jerry over at Trinity Auctions.  They do auctions and estate sales in Central Florida.  I think I've mentioned it before, but I like the design of their web site (we didn't do it).  It is very clean and professional.

Programming Crew at Vintage Software

by Micky McQuade October 27, 2009

Here's a shot of all three of us programmers here at Vintage Software.  From left to right:  Micky McQuade, Jared Strockbine, and Nathan Kilbourn.  Note that Micky and Jared went with the left-side up smirk and Nate went with the left-side down smirk.  I'm not sure why Nate always has to be different.  ;)

Say Hello To Jared

by Micky McQuade October 12, 2009

Another New Face at Vintage Software

We were looking for a new programmer with crazy skills (or should that be skillz?) and we found Jared.  I just wanted to take a moment and welcome him to the team.  You can't tell from this amazing picture taken with the utmost clarity, but his office is bare.  Oh wait, maybe you can tell.  Jared, you need some pictures!

UPDATE
Ok, so some people (ahem...Dan) weren't happy with the phone quality image above.  Here is an updated image that is maybe a little more clear.  Still no pictures though Jared.  What's the deal?

This is one of my favorite templates. It is very simple and clean, but it looks really well put together. I like that the pages looks good with any amount of text on them.

We have just finished this site for E&M Liquidations Unlimited. Due to its antique look and feel, it has been getting a lot of looks as people try to pick their perfect site.

We're Hiring - Are You Looking?

by Micky McQuade August 26, 2009

We are looking for a well rounded .NET developer to help our small internet company. We are a family run business that is growing more and more each year. We run a very large web site for estate sale companies and estate sale "goers" (between 4 and 5 million page views a month).  In addition to adding new features to our current site, we have several other web sites that need to be designed and developed.

This job will give lots of experience with the many aspects of running a large web site. A lot of attention will need to be paid to SQL and ways to improve the performance of the database. Experience developing for a large web site is desired but not required. Experience writing and tuning SQL queries is required. Experience writing web apps is required.

The ideal candidate should have the following skillset:

  • C#
  • VB.NET
  • ASP.NET
  • SQL
  • HTML/CSS
  • Javascript

That's it! The only reason VB.NET is listed is because we have some old code in VB.NET that will at some point be rewritten into C#. All development is done in C# so a strong background with C# is greatly desired.

Our goal is to make this a job that you brag about to your family and friends. We have realistic goals and we take your estimates to make our timelines. This is NOT a high stress work environment. All we expect is top notch work from someone friendly. :)

Resumes can be sent to micky@vintagesoftware.com. A cover letter or email with salary requirements would be appreciated.  This is for a full-time position in Jackson, MO (no telecommuting on this one).  Did you know that Jackson, MO was voted by CNN Money as the 59th best small town to live in?  :)

Kitten Creek Estate Management

by nate July 20, 2009

Here is a company that already had a professional looking site that we converted into our blog management system.   It is a very nice site and now they can easily edit text and upload pictures to their website.
